08-02-2006 Minsk secondary school ¹ 35 - seminar-training on technologies of creating an educational club and organization for iEARN projects collaboration at school (using materials of THINK ACT MDGs project, the Millennium Campaign and MDGs).
In the training part participants had a discussion about critical issues, connected with creation of own school club: who, how and why. Working groups were concentrated on 3 specific problematic aspects: «People. Who makes a club?», «Activity. What makes a club to be?», «Think Act MDGs : think, act and get involved».
As a result, students were able not only to give answers about who, how and why can make such organization as a club, but also were able to work out a common action proposal for their perspective youth school organization. A first project proposal held within THINK ACT MDGs project: socks and skateboard festival, where we hope to get an invitation very soon.
During the meeting we also tried to discuss if the theme of the planned youth contest of writing performance "Who and why needs the MDG in Belarus?" is interesting for young
people and if it gives enough space within it for a discussion itself. Unexpectedly, participants worked our the whole scheme, connecting the MDG with Belarussian young people [scheme in russian - open .jpeg].
Seminar was organized by initiative of iEARN projects participants of Minsk secondary school 35. Coordinating teacher - Natalia Turko. Invited workshop leader - Sofia Savelava. We hope our collaboration with these students will continue and bring a lot of great ideas realized in cool projects! (Description: Rina Tomkovich, YIEC “NEWLINE” facilitator). 17-01-2006 Minsk Gymnasium 23 appeared to be the next chosen place for THINK ACT MDGs youth meetings. Gathering that took place on January 11th, 2006, following up right after the first in school 208 also welcomed a lot of young people. It was a good chance to meet up together learn more about the Millennium Campaign, think of personal initiatives and opportunities. School students of 9th, 10th and 11th grades together with their teachers tried to develop a way of participation in the Millennium Campaign and learn more about what school can do for helping young people work towards 8 MDGs. Symbolical was that some of the NEWLINE representatives were former students of this gymnasium. You are welcome to see some pictures from that day - photogallery

13-12-2005 December 12, 2005 we held a fist NEWLINE organizational meeting of the THINK ACT MDGs project, where Dmitry Savelau, author and coordinator of the project, and Sofia Savelava a leader of the NEWLINE were explaining the project's details and principles, PR plan and possible ways of communication with other NGOs. It was the first meeting when THINK ACT MDGs was officially talked about as the Club's major initiative. The idea had support of NEWLINE members. The meeting was absolutely informal, though we shared a great interested and felt involvement of both old and new-comers of NEWLINE club. We plan to organize several more within-club activities about THINK ACT MDGs on every stage of project development - an action plan development, school and university students involvement activities planning.
